3-D printer: January 29, 2016

So, the Toronto Public Library has a 3-D printer, (at three locations), and I finally got around to using it.

I cannot take credit for the design. I got it from here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1290514

Here it is:

It's supposed to be used to store candy but I'm using it for paper clips. It's also designed much larger, but I scaled it down.

To use the 3-D printer at the Toronto Public Library, a certification course is required. I took the course way back in 2014, but it ain't no big deal. The cost is $0.05 per minute, plus $1, plus taxes.

As an example, you can get an idea of the size of the apple--that's a USB drive beside the apple, and paper clips. It took 1h 54min and cost about $7.55.
